Blackburn Hamlet Trees, Oil on Gallery Canvas, 48x36 inches

As I walked through the Blackburn Hamlet soccer field, I was transfixed by the play of light off of the snow between a small section of tightly grouped trees. After I put the photo away, the painting began to take on a life of its own; there developed a scarf-like form that connected the trees. I found this apt for the theme of winter and delighted in the bright wool-knit-like patterns that I formed.
