I have always been fascinated by the male physique and the ability of a person to voluntarily alter their form by repetitive exercise techniques in order to emphasize selected sets of muscle groups. I see this transformation as a sort of human metamorphosis.

The figure here is emerging from a fantasy underwater landscape. Faces in the deep are ever-present yet do not interfere. The old stories of sea creatures are brought into more current times with the addition of tattoos–-tattoos stretch and change with the body as it moves and ages, like water that is constantly changing and moving, never returning to the exact original shape.
